Tales of a Supermom Wannabe

Deanna shared yesterday of her tales of being a supermom. I had asked her how on earth she does it all with homeschooling, housework, and all the duties that come with both. I had been feeling a bit inadequate in those areas and was, in all honesty, feeling a little jealous.

She made me realize, however, that we all have those wonderful days where everything flows smoothly and all your to dos actually get done. I also realized that, lately I have been biting off a bit more than I can chew. We moved just over a month ago, and have since been working not only on unpacking, but also on remodeling a few rooms of the house. Nothing major, but fresh paint, new cabinets, new toilet and sink, and new flooring. That coupled with the care and schooling of my three young children, and the blessed burden of carrying another little one in my womb, does a frazzled momma make.

Today and yesterday I sat back and thought over what I needed to do to make our lives a little less crazy, and a little more structured and therefore easier. For some reason, I stupidly, and subconciously fight structure and routine with every fiber of my being. I know that it makes our lives so much nicer, but something in my brain sabotages it all. I kept praying that some miraculous answer would come to me and it would all make sense, but nothing came.

So what's it going to take for me to get it done then? Some plain ole self-discipline and baby steps. I've always been the type that when I want a big job done, I jump in head first and try to do it all in one flying leap, and always end up falling short. But I need those babysteps. I'll be working on that today, and Lord willing, I'll have something in place as we step into this new homeschool year, now homeschooling two instead of just one, and things will be a little easier for all of us.

Blessings, sara

Sara ~ Moving takes so much energy! I know when I move my big family it takes months to recover from the move itself! Definately give yourself time to regroup and gain back your strength. Moving is a stressful process even in the most idea of situations.
Blessings,

Sara, Give yourself some time to get things unpacked and organized some of the remodeling out of the way as well. No one can keep a perfecct house at all times, and certainly not with just moving and remodeling at the same time!!! WOW!!!

I am another person who is not born organized, and for some reason I fight routines and such as well. But, I made my list of chores to do, daily, weekly, etc. and organized it and organized it again, and then, I wondered why the house wasn't getting clean!!!! LOL I mean I had this wonderful cleaning routine right??? But I wasn't putting it into action. I just could get myself into gear.

So, I sat down and prayed about it, asked God for some help and He was more than happy to listen and to help! You see, so many of us pray when someone is sick, or for financial reasons, but we forget sometimes He is also there for the rest, the little things in life.

Since praying about it, as well as following my routine, the house is in better shape than it ever was before. The house is clean, and now I have a little extra time to even declutter as I go. After getting into my routine and getting faster as I go, I have time to do more baking, and more sewing and crafts as well.

Get your routine in order, but as God for help, and then....get moving girl!!! You can do it. With God's help.

And remember everyone has those days when nothing seems to work right, the dinner was burned, the kids are crazy, the laundry didn't get done and you haven't had time to run to the bathroom in 6 hours. LOL We just want those days to be fewer and farther between.

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
