Making plans

Since buying and moving into our new home, plans and dreams have swirled around my head.  From home renovations to backyard plans. It's hard for me to keep up with them all. I want so many things for our family and for our home. I'm learning not to rush into it, and to sit back and plan these things out.

Our backyard has so much potential for so many things. In my head, I can see a section out back for about 4-6 raised square foot garden beds, and right out beside it a nice large area for a chicken coop and yard, and maybe some space out in the far corner for a couple of goats someday. Up by the house there is a gardening bed that would be perfect for growing herbs and some other smaller crops. And to the side of the house there is a perfect place for growing grapes with a table set in the middle just perfect for sitting out and having tea.

I already have rose bushes and honeysuckle and many other wildflowers growing all around our lot, and even after all that, there's still a ton of yard to use up for whatever we may need. I also see an umbrella clothesline sitting not too far from my back door with cloth diapers and homemade clothing hanging from it. In fact, I will hopefully see it put up by this weekend. lol. A decent sized shed for supplies and tools with a small rabbit hutch built along one side, where we can raise rabbits for whatever reason that suits us best. I could go on and on. These are things I daydream and pray about.

I see a home fixed up just like I've always wanted and being run smoothly and efficiently. Using homemade cleaners to keep up with the mess. Homemade curtains hanging from the windows, handstitched quilts layed across the bed, and children learning and being loved in clothes that I have carefully stitched for each of them.

I see a medicine cabinet stocked with homemade herbal medicines and tinctures for whatever may ail us. I see a pantry stocked with home canned goods that have been grown in our own backyard. I see children learning right here beside me. But most of all I see a family that is happy and is thankful for everything that the Lord has given us.

Blessings, sara
