Another Project Started

Well, I started another project, hopefully I can get this done before Father's Day, if not, it will make a great Christmas gift. I've started on the Nine Patch Afghan in shades of brown. Here is what I have decided on mine. Nine block pattern will be Coffee and Off-White, it will take 60 squares for the Coffee color and 48 blocks of off-white, I have 9 blocks of each color done. The outside blocks will be done in Brown and and the setup will be Tan and if I can find varigated brown's (I don't remember what it is called) I'm going to use it for the 20 blocks inside the afhgan. There is a diagram of the afghan on that link Nine Patch Afghan, to show you what I'm talking about. So there will be a total of 285 squares to make. I have 2 of the 12 nine patch ready to piece together. And since I don't like having a bag of squares sitting around, I'll be putting those blocks together tonight.
I haven't been working on cross-stitching the Care Bear afghan in the past week. Everyone here is sick and just now getting back on our feet. And I just couldn't keep the stitching in mind. With jumping up and down to get things, it was just something that could wait. I did get several rounds done on the rectangle granny afghan, so it coming right along about 40% done.
That's all on my sewing room update.
Blessings,

Bed Doll Dreams

Well, I have been wanting to make one and I plan on making a bed doll for my little for Christmas, she doesn't know I have this in mind, so it will be a complete surprise. My great aunt use to make bed dolls all the time. She had crippling arthritis, her hands were all twisted and her fingers and her toes actually layed on top of each other. Anyway, she was just an amazing woman, she never gave up. She use to make these beautiful bed dolls, her on pattern I'm guessing, because her bed dolls had many ruffles and were so beautiful. When you spread them out over the bed, they would cover most of the bed, with just wonderful layers. I remember watching her sew on the head and the hands, they had no body cause the dress would make up for the body and of course you hide your pj's under the doll and it would make it even puffier. When she passed away she had my doll started but it was never completed.

Here is the one I plan to make for my little girl. Her name is Ellie Mae, she is just beautiful and this could give me the chance to figure out how my great aunt made such wonderful dolls. I don't plan to use raspberry, but some other color of pink. And if I get the time I plan on make my little girl this one as well, Meaghan, I know she would love both of those dolls.

If any of you know where else I can find bed doll pattern's please let me know. I would love to make my little several bed doll's. And I would love to find one for myself.
I know some of you may be thinking, how do you keep those handmade gift's a surprise when your with your kids 24/7. Well, I plan on working on it a few hours at night after she goes to bed or get up two to three hours before she does. That way she'll never know I'm working on it.
Blessings,

Rectangle Granny Afghan Completed
I wanted to take a few minute's and share a few photo's of my latest afghan. It is completed and I think it is just beautiful. Of course, that could just be me. My little girl want's it for a bedspread, she wants me to get more yarn and make it larger. It measure's 43" x 58" right now, and it wouldn't take much more to make it a bedspread. I was already considering that myself.

Well, this is what it look's like.

What do you think??

Crochet Granny Square Poncho
This is a granny square poncho I made for myself year before last. Sorry that the photo's are much, I was having trouble keeping Aragron out of the picture. I'll try a little later to get a better picture of it. I love my poncho.
The color's of course are Black and Lavendar. Red Heart brand Worsted weight.
It took me several month's to make all the square's. I'd have to figure up how many it took, but if I remember right, it took 96 block's. My great aunt made me one like this when I was a child and I remember how much I loved it. And I wanted another one. And I love it as well. I'm going to make my daughter one, when she is a little older.
Blessings,
Lynn

Rectangle Granny Afghan
Well, I think I have decided to keep this for myself. I had it planned for a Christmas gift, but I'm considering keeping it. I just love the color's. And for year's I have made gift's for others and not for my own home. So maybe this is the year. LOL

The color's are Red Heart's White, Country Rose and Light Sage. Aren't those color's wonderful together??

I just can't wait to see this completed. I have been thinking about getting more yarn and making it into a bedspread for my and hubby's bed. The color's are just so warm feeling.
Blessings,
Lynn

Crochet Hats
First off, the picture does not do these hat's justice. And secondly, I forget to add my blue and black hat to the picture. It was on my head. LOL I'll try to get picture's of my son's and hubby's beanie's that I made later on. My daughter's hat looks just like the one's in the picture's, her hat is pink and black.

I told you the picture's just don't do these hat's justice. They are very comfortable to wear.
Blessings,
Lynn

Baby Blanket
This baby blanket is just beautiful. And I just don't say that cause I made it. The color's just go together. I've put this blanket up for future use, for another baby for myself or for one of my kid's to use as a heirloom. I just love it.

The color's used is Red Heart's White, Light Yellow and Mint green. My husband loved the way I did the last 4 row's. I did too.
Blessings,
Lynn
