French Family "Loving the Father and His True Word"

LAZY? US? NO!

Our history is one of strong Christian background.  We’ve been many places and have seen many different things.  We have worked with youth groups and study groups and have seen many people come and go in the word and faith.  All too often  we would see an emptiness in the eyes of brothers and sisters and even the good old Christian face, that façade that would over time reveal the amount of truth it actually held.

Have you ever felt unstable, empty, confused, overwhelmed by the unorganized way teachings on the Word are?  Some verses here, some there, mostly however to just prove a point.  How about the feeling that you are missing out; or there has got to be more to this bible than what we are being taught?  Do you ever wonder why there were so many revivals a hundred years or so ago and very few if any real ones today?

These are some of the questions we had.  I believe we as a society have become so lazy or busy to actually take the time to study our Fathers Word the way he wrote it.  I think that through time families have stopped using the bible to teach there children and themselves to read and become decent, hardworking, respectful people, who truly love their neighbor.  Because of this, we have stepped out of the true reality and into our own little worlds.  We have lost sight of the truths of our Father.  We have very little knowledge of what our heavenly Father is and who He is.  We depend on others to tell us who he is.  We put our trust in man to give us their interpretations of him.  Why!!!!  If we don’t truly know our Father, is he really our Father, or someone else’s, that we just trust in?

We think we are so advanced today.  A long time ago families raised their families on the Word.  They read it to them, taught them to read by it, studied it.  It was a main part of their lives.  That is how they knew what good and bad was.  It was very noticeable.  They could recognize it and truly turn away from it.  They could relate to it, they could cry if they needed and God was closer.  When groups of people got together that drew close to God on a daily basis and had the Word to back it up, they would see awesome and miraculous things.  God knew them.

How can God know us if we go through someone else, and depend on someone else to translate for us?

It reminds me of when we were children and we would have someone who liked us or we liked them, and we were too afraid to talk to them, so we would have our friend talk to them and give notes and what not.  The only difference is we are not afraid of God.  We just don’t care enough, we have too many things going, and truly, as long as we can get what we want (heaven) without putting much effort into it, we are satisfied.  WE ARE A LAZY GENERATION!  Do we know this?  Does it truly matter to you!!  Do you truly for one minute, think that the MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH; the ELOHIM (GOD) OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB; THE KING OF KINGS could ever be satisfied with our behavior.  Soul Check!!

Yes we have a Father in heaven who is LOVE, but he is also JUDGE and KING.  Wouldn’t you want the KING to KNOW YOU!  How do you truly know your spouse, children, and friends?  You spend time building a relationship.  Time, Time!!

This is just a short little message.  There is more coming soon:-)

Shalom and Blessing to You and Yours

Oh my goodness....amen and AMEN!
I was honored to see myself listed among your friends and did so much reading here :o) Worthy computer time for me, for sure.
Our area (mid-South) has many revivals...too many, I wonder sometimes. They are not the revivals of old...these are 'feel good revivals' designed to bring numbers to the church rolls, not conversions into the Family of Christ. The first goal is the number increase. Once they "get them" into church, they have 'hopes' of bringing them to Christ :o( Not that anything that truly truly brings repentance and seeks Salvation is a bad thing...these methods are just a bit too modern and lightweight I think.
I miss those old tent revivals...you planned for weeks or more on attending because you knew it was going to be a week of folks ON FIRE for the Lord. And the fire they received seemed to last longer...we rather fizzle out now. I honestly don't think many churches are prepared for an influx of true conversion anymore :o( They just like numbers.

But, I ramble (as I often have a tendency to do)
I would love to hear about your Old Testament studies :o) And Alicia, I love the look of your dress :o) Some of the Regency styles can be a bit low in the neck, but I truly liked the practical look of yours. (honest, as muddled as that seems, it was a true compliment!)
