I guess I should start with an intoduction to each of us to let you know us a little better.... Try not to doze off. My hubby and I started off this little family with a couple of months of long distance courtship then married in '93...He had just re-enlisted in the Navy and I was working at a resort. We moved to Il. and had our first child 2 years later. When she was just 9 months old we moved to Wa. where we served out the remainder of my husbands 10 years of duty. Being the wife of a submariner was a growing experience to say the least. After those military family years were done we moved back to my home state of KY where we now live on our little patch of heaven. Now...to intro our children one by one...because they are all unique!!!! M (age 12) is my tomboy. She loves hangin with friends, collecting rocks, and talking talking talking! She is very hands on with her learning and loves science and P.E. best! When she was in second grade, she was diagnosed with dyslexia. The school system here had no idea how to "deal with it" so after much study on the subject we decided to try homeschooling...It was not an easy decision and alot of family thought (and still think) we are a little nuts. We have had alot of fun...We learn together everyday and decided to homeschool all of the children. If you have a child with dyslexia a good book to read to understand what the child is dealing with and how you can help is "THE GIFT OF DYSLEXIA" by Ronald Davis. W (age 7) is the only boy in a house full of girls...He is spoiled and tourtured daily by them. He is dad's shadow when he is home. He is a train collector and says he is going to be a conductor when he is dad's age. He had a scary start in life though... When he was 22 hours old he had a stroke. We spent a week and 1/2 at Kosairs in Lousville (God Bless those people). He was put on meds and we were told he MAY have social or learning problems. By the time he was 5 months old he was off the meds. He has always been a loving child and is smart as a tack... I think too smart sometimes..haha God does answer prayers!!! S (age 5) is my old soul. She is a dainty, shy child. Once you get to know her though watch out! She is certain she is a princess and should be treated as such. She may be the smallest in size but she is the biggest in attitude! She loves to sing with her dad and wants to do everything the bigger kids are doing. She is just like all the other little women in our life....a firecracker!!! P (age 3) is the new soul. She lives life to the fullest. She is always into something. Never a dull moment with her around. She doesn't hold back....She even gives her dad a run for his money!!! She has these huge blue eyes that are always wide open being sure not to miss anything!!! Well, now that we have everyone introduced I hope you will come back and visit us again. We hope to have daily entries. My daughter M came up with this great idea of blogging to keep in contact with our family that is far away....so they can get a peek into our daily lives. It has been a couple of years since we last visited them but hope to see them soon....until then....have a happy day. { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 3 of 3 } { Next Page } |
