Homesteading Sisters

Today

Today looks like it’s going to be another nice day! Yesterday we had nice weather, lots of sunshine. :) And, I think the temp went up to 75 or so. We’ll see how today turns out, so far it’s nice and sunny!

We have to make bread today.. We were going to make it yesterday but ran out of time. Typically we go through about 6-10 loaves of bread a week, which means, we have to make bread once or twice a week. The bread recipe we use makes 6 loaves at a time. We go through a lot of bread around here… :)

I’ve been working on my GED still, mostly just studying and getting prepped.. Right now I’m studying to pass the Science and the Social Studies. And, once I’m done with that, I’ll be working on taking the English test after that. The place I’m testing at is only every other week, so I’ll be taking my Science and Social Studies next week. Tonight I’ll be going to my prep classes, I usually spend a couple hours there. They just help you get prepared for what’s going to be on the official tests..

I’ve been milking goats lately… I never did much milking in the previous years, because, Hannah and Leanne use to do it. I always stayed up at the house and made breakfast, etc… It’s kind of fun to milk a goat. We have a very impatient goat though.. it’s not exactly fun to milk her!

Oh, if you want to eat something really good, I’d recommend cottage cheese with red grapes sliced into it. It is amazingly good! I tried it once because I wanted some fruit with my cottage cheese and grapes are what we had. It tasted really good…

Well, I’d best get going on my day!

My mom makes our bread too, when she can. the problem is that we can't afford a bread dough mixer so she has to do it by hand which only makes abt two loafs.
Sounds like your having better weather than us! lol. Down here in Indiana we got some real rainy weather (but the temp is perfecto! like 68).
I sent your gift out this morning. Sorry that I couldn't make it that big!

I just love cottage cheese! I like it with tomatoes. I will have to try it with the grapes. :) Thanks for the comment about my hair, it is def. one of a million perks of being pregnant! :) I am just learning how to make bread, my mom and I made some yesterday and its called Challah. It was reallly good. As for milking goats, ours are still too young, but I cant wait till they are older!
