Thursday through Sunday are our stay at home days to get things done around here, but it doesn't seem to work out that way. Yesterday I was out all day getting the grocery shopping done to last us the next 2 weeks and today my eldest has a math class. Fortunately, I will be home around lunchtime to get some school in with the kids and head outside to work in my garden. I had planted lettuce, spinach, snow peas, carrots, radishes, italian kale, leeks and green onions by seed in September. I guess it was still too hot for a fall crop (it is still well into the 90's in CA in Sept and begining Oct) because the only seeds that actually germinated were my radishes (I planted a variety called French Breakfast and they were soooo hot), a few carrots, kale and my snow peas ( which are doing great). So, today, now that the weather is cooling down, I will replant the seeds that didn't come up and hopefully I will have more luck.
