Glenda, your TV Mom is Lois
You are Lois from Malcolm in the Middle. From coming up with punishments to putting together interesting combinations of leftovers for dinner, there's never any doubt who's running the show at home: It's you. You're pragmatic and proficient, but keeping your kids in line, keeping them fed, and keeping within your budget probably leaves you feeling harried. Sometimes after shouting out orders or admonishments, you might feel more like a monster than a mother. But there's never any doubt that you love your kids and are a mama bear when it comes to protecting them: just ask anyone who's ever tried to criticize them. You've got an extra sense for sniffing out trouble and are a genius when it comes to coming up with tricks for nipping it in the bud.

Well today has been a busy day.. But a good one. I have told the children that i was going to look for things around here that are free that we can do.. Like many little vactions. Today we went to the Oakville Indian Mounds. It was raining and we did not get to do 75%of the stuff. We are praying we can go back tomorrow when it is not raining. We were able to go to the learning center. It was great. It was filled with all kinds of indian arrow heads, a hand carved boat, a loom made out of logs and small branches. It was great.. I so love looking at things like that. I mean think about it. If the people in the past could come up with things like that to make ends meet. What more could we do.. What kind of things could we with a little work do?? If we go back tomorrow i can take pictures of the loom. I plan on as my son said he would like to build me one.. Can you just think of it.. I would be the happiest mom in the world.. I know that child can do it.. I know he can.. Tomorrow they will have wagon rides, civil war display and they will have cannon fires each day. My sons are going crazy over this.. While there today I did something dumb... I say it was dumb because i have already had to get on to the boys about it.. I bought each of the boys a pea shooter.. Oh boy are they haveing fun with that.. They wanted a tomak??(spelling) There was man there selling them that the indians honestly made.. But at 5.00 each they might not get them. we will just have to wait and see.. I would however like to get some of the beewax that one lady is selling.. It is all natural off her bee hives and well I would love to have some here on the property for crafts and such.. There was also a person selling herbs.. Oh and they looked so nice.. Big nice pots for only 2.00 each...To me that was not bad... They have a place where you can picnic so tomorrow if we get to go we will take with us a lunch.. It will be a day long thing after we clean the one house we have to clean.. I know the children would love it.. You can also go fishing there for free... While there i did pick up something for me. I have been wanting a mortal for my herbs. They are so costly and i have not been able to find anything i can afford.. Well sure enough i went to one tent and there was a older indian women, we got to talking and sure enough she had some that were handcrafted out of wood.. OH it is so sweet.. I just love it.. I asked how much and she said get this 5.00 The kids looked at me and said mom i dont care how much money we have left if you have enough buy it now.. So i did.. They know how much i have wanted one.. It is great.. Well all that is what our day looked like.. Well then we stopped by a store and I went inside to have sticker shock.. Flour in our local store is up to 2.89 for 5# bag... Oh god is there any end in site... A friend of mine said to me the other day that the poor are getting poorer and the middle class are becoming the new poor.. I am starting to believe that is true.. Have a blessed day all. glenda |

We all looked like a bunch of soaked babies out there today. But thank the Lord we were not the only ones.. Ok today we spent the morning at the Oakville indian mounds off hwy 157 in Moulton alabama. The children and i have never gone there. It is free there is a event going on right now until the end of the weekend. I am hoping to take the kids back tomorrow when it is not raining. It was a lot of fun. There is indian danceing, all kinds of indian crafts, civil war displays, wagon rides. Even with us getting soak and wet we had a good time.. This is one picture in the education building.
I hope to have some better pictures tomorrow when we go back. I pray that you all have a blessed day. glenda |
