Joyful Help Meet At Home

If you have enjoyed reading my rantings please visit my links listed above, and bookmark them for future visits.

For quite a while I have known that I was spreading myself too thin. Well, I have to decide what blogs and sites to work out of and concentrate my efforts there rather than spreading them all over. I need to simplify and organize.   It is possible that I will keep this blog up and running and condense others instead. I'll let you knwo for sure ASAP

Please let me know if you are interested in the things I posted on this site. I shall be moving them to1914 WIFE by or just after the first of the yr.

Thanks for your support and prayers.

Staying or Going

08:57, Saturday, December 8, 2007 .. Posted in Missions .. 0 comments .. Link

Most of the time when we think of missionaries, we picture someone living in the jungle fighting off snakes, and eating bugs...or a lonely family shivering huddled around a small fire as the frigid air whooshes through their drafty house....

Funny how our minds work....we forget that do a degree all Believers-those who have trusted the LORD Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour-we are missionaries all the time...it's just that we are not all called to go to a distant land.

Going to a mission field is simply going to where God leads you and giving the gospel, ministering to the people around you...arent' we ALL supposed to do that? Why do we think there are only a select few who are to do the work of everyone?

HMMMM

OK, so we can't all go, but we can all pray for missionaries, we can encourage them with notes and offerings.

Another thing is to take your family vacation money and time and go on a short term mission trip to help missionaries who are already established.

A final option is to take time, and go locally or to another part of the USA, a big city is ideal, and do the tourist scene but stop and minister-give out tracts, do a little street preaching, engage strangers in conversation and try to win someone to Christ.

When I first went to live in NYC, I was terrified of the people, but guess what, they are people just like the ones in the smallest backwoods town. They seem rough around the edges, but they need Christ too.City folk need the LORD too.  It's easy to talk to friendly folk, or ease yourself into a casual gathering of people at the local feed store or lumberyard (I mean no disrespect bcz that is the background I come from) but to foist yourself into conversing with strangers in a place that is considered harsh and unfriendly requires divine assistance.

Perhaps NYC is a bit too large.....start small...go to the next town or city that is larger or busier than your hometown, and work your way up to the big cities.

Who knows, maybe you will win the one who God will call and use to turn our nation or another nation upside down for the LORD.

Missions

03:25, Monday, October 8, 2007 .. Posted in Missions .. 1 comments .. Link

Missionaries need our encouragement and support. They need us to pray for them daily, fervently interceding for their health, protection, wisdom, and that the LORD will strengthen them to stand against the devil and the evil of this day and age.  Many of us think America is so evil and wicked, and it is, HOWEVER all you need to do is visit another country, even Canada, to realize that by comparison America still has some "rules" to dictate what is acceptable on billboards and such.

One way we would like to support missions is by taking some mission trips to help them on the field and visit them where they serve.  To do this we need to earn money to get passports and save for travel expenses-mostly airfare.   This is how we are earning some of the monies.  www.youravon.com/dleib  Though my son's name is on the webpage, all dealing will be with my daughter and I. You can email me/us at joyful help meet at home AT Yahoo dot com. (no spaces)  Please pass the link on to you family and friends, church members etc. Thanks a bunch.

Toy Stores Pushing Voodoo

Issue Date: March/April 2007

With the rise in occult groups comes a general increase in experimentation with satanic things.  Toys R Us is now selling a collection of voodoo dolls.  Their web site markets four to choose from: Uchawi, Baka, Kennis  and Ezili. They are described as: “…horrifying yet irresistible plush voodoo dolls complete with everything you will need to practice voodoo, create spells, summon spirits.”  Each comes with an accessory bag containing trinkets, binding twine, chicken feet and mojo bones, a spell book and pins.

The Voodooz brand joins other occult items that Toys R Us has carried for a long time: ouija boards, D&D and violent video games laced with devil themes.  The Voodooz dolls are produced by Mezco Toys who specialize in the macabre.  A visit to their web site finds Hellboy comics (also sold by Toys R Us) and Living Dead and Edward Scissorhands dolls.

Satan is making a major play for our children in his “culture war” against all things decent and biblical.  We must arm our young people with a thorough knowledge of biblical truth so they will recognize and resist Satan’s wiles.  Parents who fed their growing youngsters the strong biblical message in Chick literature tell us that it helped them became stalwart believers when they grew up.  Most of the tracts are written in simple terms that the early child can understand.  These are supported later by full-sized books such as How to be a Successful Teenager and Stairway to Hell, by Rick Jones.

We must inoculate our youngsters against Satan’s barrage.  Parents will find that Chick Publications literature is a real help for their own kids as well as those in the neighborhood.

Welcome

10:52, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 .. 1 comments .. Link

Thank you for stopping in.  Visitors are always welcome here.

I suppose I should tell you that I do not live on a farm, but we live in the country and have a small garden. Our property is just under an acre and is shaped like a slice of pizza. Around a third is wooded, there is a creek (mostly runoff) on the side and passes through in the woods.  Typical of PA, there are large, old pines, along with younger ones that we planted.

Our house is BLUESTONE, and was built in 1913. The previous owners had a furnace fire in the '80s and any historic features were destroyed. Our choice of decor is rustic, but not necessarily country. The living room always makes me think of the beach.

We are a Pastor's family, and homeschool. It hit me earlier that I have been schooling for over 14 yrs. now. Compared to other homeschool families that is nothing, but to me, it seems long, but at the same time short.

We garden...just a little one. Last yr. something killed our squash, and it wasn't just us. Everyone in this area, for 40+miles were disappointed with their meager harvest. All we got were blossoms, baby squash that shriveled in a few days...nothing could be eaten.  Snap peas were a disaster. They shells were like eating leather...what did we do wrong??

Anyhow, I will share more of my ongoing projects, mostly sewing, another day. I hope you'll stop back soon.

Til we meet again!
